Cooking instructions - Hash browns

For best results cook from frozen, do not thaw. Cooking times may vary with the model of oven. Watch carefully during final minutes of preparation to avoid over cooking.


Oven bake

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F).
  2. Spread frozen hash browns in a single layer on an oven tray and place in centre of oven.
  3. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
  4. To achieve a crisper product, leave the door ajar for the final 5 minutes of cooking.


Deep fry

  1. Check oil temperature is at 170°C (340°F) before cooking.
  2. Fill basket away from the fryer. Avoid overfilling.
  3. Cook hash browns for approximately 3 minutes 20 seconds, adjusting times to meet preferred colour.
  4. Shake the basket of cooked hash browns above the fryer and allow time to drain before serving.


Air fry

  1. Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place the frozen potato pops in the basket.
  3. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping the hash browns half way through, cooking to a light golden brown.

  3. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
  4. To achieve a crisper product, leave the door ajar for the final 5 minutes of cooking.

  3. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket half way through, cooking to a light golden brown.

A favourite for breakfast and lunch, our Hash Browns come in triangle (gluten-free), oval (gluten-free) and rectangle shapes. Farmed on the Canterbury Plains, we choose mature, sound, white potatoes (Solanum tuberosum) to make our Frozen Hash Browns. They’re washed, peeled, sorted and trimmed to assure a clean and wholesome product, before being blanched and shredded. Each Hash Brown is perfectly formed being fried and frozen to keep them at their peak in the freezer.
